Air Zimbabwe: all domestic & international flights remain grounded

Zimbabwe's flag carrier, state-owned Air Zimbabwe, will not resume its suspended regional and international flights until the Zimbabwean government takes over the $140 million debt and restructures the national airline.
The cash-strapped airline recently suspended all international flights after some of its planes were impounded by debtors over long standing debts in South Africa and in London.
Air Zimbabwe's acting chief executive officer, Innocent Mavhunga, told the media that the airline will therefore only resume flights when there is no risk of the planes being impounded.
Domestic flights were also suspended earlier this week after the airline's sole operating Boeing 737-500 aircraft developed an engine problem.
Meanwhile, the workers of Air Zimbabwe are demanding the entire board and management team to be sacked for failing to pay outstanding salaries and retrenchment packages as well as running down the airline.
No good times ahead for Air Zimbabwe! We'll keep you posted!
