Did you know... 42% of Namibia's land is under conservation management

As one of few countries in the world with conservation and environmental management mandated in the Constitution, Namibia is proud to have 42% of its land under conservation management. No other country in the world is coming even close to this degree of protection. Over 75 registered communal conservancies alone are covering well over 18% of the land area of Namibia and are directly benefiting over 250,000 rural Namibians. Another approx. 17% of the country's land are either national parks or protected areas. The remaining 7% of land under conservation management are mainly private reserves and protected areas, such as the Onguma and Ongava Private Reserves near Etosha National Park.
