Africa's first "Nile Crocodile Zip Line" opens in Johannesburg

Africa's first Nile Crocodile Zip Line has opened at 01 May 2014 at the Croc City Crocodile & Reptile Park located in the Fourways area north of Johannesburg. The brand new Croc City "FlyOver" consists of two slides with three platforms and stretches over 150m. The zip line traverses over two seperate crocodile enclosures between the starting platform and the middle platform and over one large crocodile enclosure between the middle platform and the ending platform. The height above ground varies from the lowest point of 2.5m to the highest point around 8m. The main zip line cable is a 13mm galvanised steel cable with an internal core; the rope is made up of a number of individual strands wrapped around each other for strength.

The entrance fee to the Croc City Crocodile & Reptile Park is currently R70 for adults and R50 for children. A ride with the Croc City "FlyOver" costs R95 per adult and R75 per kid (12 years+). The Croc City Crocodile & Reptile Park is open seven days a week from 09:00 – 16:30.
