CapeNature reopened two kloofing trails in the Hottentots Holland Nature Reserve

CapeNature has reopened the Suicide Gorge kloofing trail and its less extreme partner, the Riviersonderend kloofing trail, on 01 November 2014. The trails, both situated in the Hottentots Holland Nature Reserve, have undergone numerous safety upgrades and improvements. These include new, clearer signage along the route, new route markers as well as compulsory waterproof maps provided by CapeNature for R20 (all participants are required to have one).

Suicide Gorge kloofing trail:
  • requires high fitness levels and no fear of heights
  • total lenght: ca. 17km (8.4km to the kloofing section; kloofing section = 1.3km; 6.5km to get back)
  • duration: 9hrs+
  • highest compulsary jump: 14m
  • kloofing section involves a lot of swimming

Riviersonderend kloofing trail:
  • ideal for those who don’t want to go too extreme on their first kloofing adventure
  • total length: ca. 14km (4.1km to the kloofing section; kloofing section = 6.1km; 3.6km to get back)
  • duration: 7-8hrs
  • highest compulsary jump: 7m

The tariff for the kloofing trails is R275 per person per day. Saturdays and Sundays must be booked a month in advance. The routes are open from 01 November to 30 April every year.
